Les Miserables

Black eyes, blue eyes, and tall or short,

'les miserables' do report,

when they are feeling sad and blue.

Beware ! I think they spotted you !

It doesn't matter what you say,

they do their best to shove you away.

They probe and poke, stir and stare

what are you doing with a snare.

They scorn your wit and try your skills,

demeaning you. 'Are you on pills ?'

'Are you a child?' 'Or one too old,

who have forgotten things been told ?'

And with a laugh they leave you alone

to your disgrace. Your profile drawn

as one who lacks spirit, style.

They'll leave you alone, just for a while...

They will come back. Oh, yes! For more.

'Les miserables', they adore

to ridicule you and make you leave.

Misery and scorn, the things they give.

They are so sad, this bunch of fools !

With little fingers, mouth that drools

tasting their petty victories

like biscuits filled with miseries.
