MERIDIAN

There's a Fire Star in the sky,
that passes the Meridian every year,
In the time when hearts are wounded by sadness.
For the wind blows cold,
Along the narrow paths leading to the forest.
I carry me deep basket, I gather the tender leafs.
And I cry. My eyes concealing pain,
from the searching eyes of the High Priest.

The silk worm month comes,
When the Fire Star passes the Meridian.
Spinners weave the brilliant threads, for princes robes.
It's hunting time as well... Foxes and wild cats' furs,
protecting knightly backs covered with pearls.
The trees have bees stripped from all its leafs.
Naked silhouettes bending to strike me.
I always recollect the tender leaves.
°
And when the cicadas give its notes,
The Fire Star passes the Meridian.
Exercise of war. Murmurs of men,
excited cries of Northern Warriors.
Windows closed to dark futures.
By the fire I eat my purple grapes.
Reddish plum juice, drips from my mouth.
I hold my breath. Oh, how I miss you !
°
In cups of rhinoceros horns,
the wine for my prince is kept warm,
while the fire Star passes the Meridian.
The liquour shines with its unearthly fire.
The night twists our hair in silky ropes,
Slashing ivory white skins.
The reddish trail of lust and passion,
Where my fingers linger, hot.
