BREAK DOWN OF A BREADOWN
Marooned in his corner, a plum-less Jack Horner,
Alone midst the multitude, social ineptitude,
Vocal decrepitude, self-sentenced solitude.
Friendships derailed, acquaintanceships failed.
A failure self-labelled, self-help disabled,
A constant berating, always self-hating,
Craves affirmation, a small confirmation,
Some small consolation.
Confidence dying, soul silent crying.
Prayers un-replying.
Feelings cascading, hope slowly fading,
Logic evading.
Fear is self-feeding, perspective receding,
Fear is a thief, stealing belief,
A void filled by grief.
Sober inebriatist, drunken teetotalist,
Synapses degrading, cognisance fading,
Yesterdays haunting, tomorrows are daunting.
Suspicions go viral, insecurities spiral.
An inner voice screams, of plotting and schemes,
Self-doubt self-sowing, resistance is slowing,
Death's pull now growing.
Self-harm tears bleeding, self-hatred feeding,
Life wish receding.
Repeatedly caught
By an end-it-all thought.
To seek absolution, an end to confusion,
A lasting solution.
Dark thoughts are spiralling, Samaritans dialing,
A faceless voice smiling.
The voice of a stranger,
Aware of the danger;
So too the surgery, alive to the misery,
Rings back with urgency.
A second to think, step back from the brink,
Silent Death recaps his ink.
Marooned in his corner, a plum-less Jack Horner...

Sober inebriatist, drunken teetotalist
Excellent words containing a lot of very well thought out rhyme that frantically jumps off the page to emphasise the utter desperation.
Silent Death recaps his ink... a brilliant penultimate line!
I'm not sure if enjoyed is the correct word but this is certainly an extremely good poem that I felt compelled to read twice.

This is beautifully
This is beautifully constructed, the driving rhythm capturing the pounding emotions. That feeling of increasing panic and inevitability, and then the release, only for it to start up again. Great piece of work.
