Now the bombs are falling fast,
Throw your dice and war is cast;
MPs re-arrange their tune
Silent prayers to slake the moon.
Who will stand and mark this night ?
Who will take up arms and fight ?
Photo ops from years gone by
(The mega-yachts falsified.)
England snoozes on its back
A nightingale warns of attack!
Not from folk on blow-up boats
But oligarchs with rouble notes.
On the outskirts of the throng
Antique war horns sounding long;
Wind and rain lash silver stream
Evil prospers in a dream.
I saw a lark flying high,
Dance beneath a clear blue sky;
Peace will come but until then
Fight and build Jerusalem.
