Part 4 : Ravelleon Concedes - Section 2
She laughed, “You make me sound as if I would be a good replacement for your wife.”
He took her words seriously, and a frown crossed his forehead as she brought the image of his wife to him. There was sorrow in him as he thought of the adultery present in his mind. He did love his wife. She was everything a wife should be and mother to his children, and he enjoyed the private sexual life they had between them. He knew that at this moment he merely had to ask and Danella would be upon him, and although he did not intend it, not yet anyway, he was sorely tempted. She represented excitement to him. Her beauty acted as a magnet upon him and he knew that if she were to touch him in the same way and unless he was strong, she would overcome him. “You would be a good replacement for my wife, that is the trouble,” he said quite seriously, revealing something of his dilemma.
Danella sensed as before, the torment within him and wondered that it should be a problem to him. She now understood the Vanmarian code of loyalty to one’s wife but still found it incomprehensible and unnecessary. “I am a Priestess, I make love to different men every day. Why do you think I could ever be suitable as a wife?”
“Perhaps not,” he admitted, “but you have the qualities which could keep a husband happy. You have conversation and maturity wit and humour, and you would mix well in society.”
Ravelleon’s eyes looked into hers and she could feel the excitement of being examined by this cold foreigner. She knew he was considering whether to lower his guard. Her fate for the night was in the balance, but there might be no quick decision from Ravelleon. “You know Ravelleon I am attracted to you. I am attracted by your power, your physique and your masculinity. If you want me you only have to ask and I will be upon your knee within a breath of your invitation.” Her words came out so easily despite her earlier caution. If he had been a man of Pirion he would not have needed to say all the words he had said to receive her offer. A mere request from a man would have been sufficient to encourage an answer. Which would have been either a simple ‘yes’ or a ‘no’. A ‘no’ would have been taken as no insult but would be because she had recently communed or was engaged on some other duty. Any other soldier of Prancir in saying those words would, if the time were right, have encouraged her to initiate a speedy seduction . But she held back this time. She would make her invitation in words alone and would persuade him before she began to undress.
“I do want you,” he admitted finally, “but how can I, I am married.” His words made no sense to her. Here in this room there were only two of them. His wife was thousands of miles away across the sea. What could it possibly matter to anyone else, including his wife, if he relieved himself with any woman. It was the most natural action to take, especially as he admitted the reasons for his attraction to her.
Awkwardly there was silence between them. She ended it by saying, “I think Ravelleon that if you were going to refuse me again, you would have done so by now. And why else did you bring me here tonight? You want me and you have admitted it You are a man and you should make your own choices and not be afraid of them.”
Like a child he sat, eyes boring into her, as if transfixed, as she advised him. “This is your life Ravelleon. If you decide not to love me tonight you will regret for the rest of your life because you will never know what you have missed.”
Again there was silence for a time. Then he whispered as if he wished nobody else to hear, “Alright, but I will not make love to you fully for the sake of my wife.”
She knew what he meant even though his will seemed silly to a Priestess who had been entered so many times. There were ceremonies which demanded that males refrain from entering the female. These were popular and usually very enjoyable for the subtlety they encouraged. She stood and came to join him at the other side of the table, reaching his arm and drawing him up to stand in the centre of the floor together.
“Do you feel nervous?” she asked. He shook his head. “You mustn’t” she said. “I do this every day with someone or other. Don’t be nervous on my account”. She reached out and placed her hands on his two shoulders, tracing.
“Soothe me but don’t…..,” he began. The General, leader of thousands, may be more than thousands of men, was at her mercy and in awe of her. “There’s no need to be scared of me. I won’t do anything without your consent I promise.” Her treatment of him as if he were a nervous person would keep him on the defensive for a while but she knew he would relax to her touch as time drew on.
This time of lovemaking saw a time when every man is in a sense at the mercy of the woman. For it is and has always been the choice of a woman to acquiesce and encourage a man to make love, but if she chooses she can easily spoil the moments so easily. It is for the woman to determine whether she will allow her lover to become aroused and to stay aroused or whether by small actions of impatience or sarcasm she may tarnish the event. Of course for a Priestess the latter course had always been viewed as a denial of the pleasures which the Goddess brings and was thereby forbidden. But all women of Pirion knew of this choice, and occasionally for one reason or another it might be exercised. Danella had not thought of spoiling this night in any way. It was precious to her too. Ravelleon was no ordinary lover or ‘customer’. He was an important General. She wished to reach his heart partly because of his importance, but mainly because his importance made him attractive to her. She felt in control of this man now. He was fully in her power. She wondered that she had been in fear of him these last three weeks.
“That’s what I am afraid of,” said Ravelleon. “That I will agree, and live to regret it.” She took his hands raising them to her lips and kissing them. “I hope you will never regret anything which passes between us. It is freely given, for you to accept or choose not.”
“I won’t give you my cock,” he said, saying the word quietly as if it were a word he rarely spoke, but could find no way of avoiding. Her arms encircled him, pulling him close in against her. She began lasciviously to kiss his face. He felt her lips on his brow, his eyelids, his nose. Her heart beat almost as fast as his her passion awakened.
“I won’t ask for it,” she promised, “unless you offer it, except perhaps that I might play with it for a while. But I will not insist that it penetrate me. Let me give you a little enjoyment, a harmless diversion that you cannot ever regret.”
Ravelleon looked at her doubtfully. He was torn by his principles. He wanted so badly to believe her, but she was a Pirionite whore. How could she be trusted? Her whole life had been spent in tempting whatever males she could get, stranger or friend, into her bed. He could not imagine that any of them could resist her. He felt his own resolve weakening even now as the aching in his cock became unbearable and he wished only to push it softly deep into her lovely body. But he must resist for the sake of his wife. Already he had consented to being aroused by her, he could not back out now. Already he was embarked upon a harmless diversion, as she put it. It would surely be harmless. In a sense he had already been making love to her all evening. What further harm could there be in allowing her to touch him like this and to see and feel her beautiful nakedness. At least he could be strong and avoid entering her. Then the act would merely be an entertainment shared with a friend, a soothing act of no great consequence.
She parted his jacket and lifted it from his shoulders, then unbuttoned his shirt and did likewise until she could nuzzle in his flesh. She seated him on the sofa as she stood before him. “I have much to teach you. Do you want me? Do you want me to pleasure you?”
“Yes” he whispered with a cracking voice.
She bore him back to lie reclined on the cushions as she undressed before him, allowing him to watch as she slid the dress from her shoulders to the floor and bent to unfasten her corset. Then her breasts swung free and he was able to see her beauty fully for the first time, although she had revealed much of herself to him three weeks before. Naked now, except for her stockings, she leaned forward towards him and began to caress him softly and reassuringly as he also touched her tenderly all over her breasts. When she at last kissed his lips he responded eagerly. Her tongue tested his mouth, moving keenly within it. She lay across his body allowing him to feel her weight, her hands moving across his chiselled flesh. Ravelleon seemed to catch his breath as she bent over him. Her lips brushed over his strong chest kissing his nipples most tenderly. Her hair trailed across his skin ticking him softly. He responded, hesitantly, touching her, letting his hands slide over her shoulders, in awe of her beauty. She could feel his strong penis, now sprung into hardness beneath his trousers. She pushed against it as it answered her caress. As her mouth began to tease his nipple he gasped in pleasure. The feel of his hands on her own breasts, warm and sweated sent ripples of arousal through every part of her body. She felt, even though she had not yet been caressed there, the moisture and heat already glowing between her thighs.
Suddenly she slid from the couch and knelt in front of him smiling at him, her eyes sultry with desire. Her hands stroked his legs over his trousers, wandering slowly upwards until they reached his crotch, smoothing his penis as she untied his belt and unfastened the top button of his trousers, tantalising him with her confidence. “You don’t know how much I’ve wanted to touch you” she said. “I did not realise how much I wanted you until this evening. I thought you had rejected me so I put you out of my mind. But you were still there. I wanted to ignore you but I could not.”
“I thought you Priestesses did not believe in love,” he gasped as she opened his trousers and played her fingertips over his penis. “Not your kind of love” she said, “the love which restricts and contains. But I can say I love you if I wish because I do love you.”
“Do you say that to all your ‘lovers’,” he asked. “In Pirion we do not need to say that we love someone. But we often do. More often we call the act of love worship, we worship the Goddess. I suppose you might say we worship the act of sex and the human body, but it means the same thing as your ‘love.”
“So you love everyone whom you make love to?” he asked incredulous, “Even my soldiers who must pay for your services?”
“Of course, a little at the least, except when we are in danger,” she alluded to the events of the conquest but she was not sure he understood what she referred to. “But no, when I use your term ‘to love’ I usually use it to refer to people who are special to me.”
“So you do love me?” he asked.
“Yes of course,” she said, but she knew she had only succeeded in confusing him with her explanation. He was a man of Prancir. How could he understand the feelings of a woman of Pirion with as many lovers as she had enjoyed. “At this moment” she joked, “you are the most important man in my life.” Then knowing instinctively that he needed greater reassurance than this she confessed “I was a little frightened of you after your anger last time but I think that was because I desire you so much. I do love you, I think.”
“Prancirian love?” he queried.
“Yes, I think so, but it is not exclusive like your marriages. I do love others at the same time.”
