Notes: on a casual saturday afternoon, my friend and I were chatting under the shade of this enormous tree and out of those talks I suggested we write poems considering the moment just felt perfect. I passed her my phone and asked her to compose a poem as fast and as free. No assumptions, no stress of structure, no rules. This is what came out of that collaboration with my friend Jam.
The breeze which binds the crashing waves
Brings the rise of the crumpled day
I ran with steps astray
While blood is oozing from the thorns at bay
-Jamillah
cat lady in dark denim her face gleams a sunny day
locks of ochre maybe navy pursed lips as she stalks the wandering cat orange feet touch the blissful grass marmalade teeth, ombre heart
wild child ofstray cats lingers in dark and pale moonlight
-Isabel
A child quivers while gazing at the shimmering sea
The gleam in her eyes lost the light that was once shone
Beating heart, why is the glass half full?
"Little child, look at yourself and you will gaze at a blurred reflection."
-Jam
