Poem About Bad Friends
Friends are people who say they like you for you,
But then they say that's not really true.
They say that no matter what time of day,
They'll come and make everything okay.
When times are the worst,
They'll be there in a short burst.
But they lie,
And it makes me want to sigh.
They say they're your friends,
But where are they when you really need them in the end?
Friends are like the evening breeze,
They come and go as they please.
They're your friends when no one else is around,
But they'll get rid of you with a laughing sound.
Never caring who they hurt,
They treat you just like dirt.
They make you fall to your knees,
They make you say please.
They ignore you when you need them the most,
And then they burn you like buttered toast.
Tell me, is that really a friend?
Where do they stand in the end?
They act all kind,
But they're just making you blind.
It's a lie,
They don't care if you die.
They're you friend when no one else is around,
But when there's more, they throw you to the ground.
Never caring who they hurt,
They treat everyone just like dirt.
And then when they need a friend,
You want to say, "This is the end."
But you don't,
And you know you won't.
Because you care,
While they only scare.
They're fun alone,
But when there's more, they take on a change of tone.
Tell me, is that a true friend?
I say it's not, again.
Friends are like the evening breeze,
They come and go as they please.
Never caring who they hurt,
They step on you like you're lower than dirt.
When things go wrong for them,
You're the one they turn to in the end.
When they need a helping hand,
they don't expect you to take a stand.
They say, "Come on, I'm your friend."
And then you laugh and say, "Oh yeah? Since when?"
