Bottle of Despair

She took the bottle full of beer,
And watched herself drink it in the mirror.
She couldn't continue living this lie,
She just wanted to lie down and die.
Ever since his death she hadn't spoken,
But now it seemed she was just so broken.
She wanted to scream out her pain,
And let herself cry in the rain.
He had died with a drink,
He had been gone before she could blink.
And now she was going to go the same way,
On this warm evening night in May.
On this evening she heard herself declare,
That she was going to chug this bottle of despair.
By the time dawn came the next day,
She had already drank her woes away.
When the cops found her shortly after,
They could somehow hear her numbing laughter.
And so, they say, she's left us now,
She's taken her final bow.
And now we lay her down to rest,
Wishing her the absolute best.
