Rakan pulled Kasa along as they ran through the trees. Kasa didn't resist much, though Rakan knew he was confused and was probably in shock. They slowly came to a stop near a small brook in the trees, and Rakan glared into the water as he bent down next to it. Kasa stood there, seemingly not with him. Rakan glanced at him for a moment, and then sighed again, shaking his head as he lashed out at his reflection. He knew this was hard for Kasa; he had just been driven from his home. Leaving home was always hard; always had been, it seemed. Rakan wondered briefly what was going on, but decided not to dwell on it, for dwelling on such things caused problems. He looked over at Kasa long and hard, and then spoke quietly, "Kasa? You okay?" Kasa didn't answer, didn't move, didn't blink, didn't even seem to hear him. Frowning to himself, he rose to his feet and slowly made his way toward him, stopping in front of him. He waved his hand in front of Kasa's eyes, but they didn't follow. Rakan let out a breath and tried again. "Kasa? Are you with me? Hello?" still, he didn't answer, and a worry began to grown within Rakan, confusing him slightly. But he decided not to question it; he was worried, and he knew it. "Kasa...c'mon man...are you with me?" he snapped his fingers in front of Kasa's eyes, and the other male blinked and slowly focused on him. "Are you with me now?" he asked, frowning slightly. Kasa blinked at him and then slowly nodded his head. "Are you sure?" Rakan questioned, his voice unbelieving. "You're not going to space out all the time now, are you?" Kasa smiled slightly and then shook the smile from his face as it went expressionless once more. Okay, NOW Rakan was worried. Frowning, he looked Kasa up and down, but he didn't seem to be injured. "Kasa?" he asked softly, and the other male looked at him slowly. "Are you okay?"
Kasa stared at him for a moment and then gave a bitter laugh. "I trusted you..." he whispered as he shook his head, his shoulders trembling slightly. Rakan stared at him, frowning. "I trusted you..." Kasa repeated, his voice seemingly defeated as his shoulders slumped. He walked away from Rakan and sat down on the ground, leaning his back against a tree, his eyes slipping closed. "I was so stupid..." Rakan's frown deepened and he walked toward him, but Kasa merrily shook his head. "Stop," he said, stopping him in his tracks. "Just...stop..."
"...Kasa?" Rakan asked quietly. "What's wrong? What are you talking about?" he was confused and the worry within him began to grow. It surprised him then that he was worried for someone other than himself. No, wait... he had never really worried for himself since his family had been killed. But now here he was, worrying for Kasa. It all seemed so strange to him, such a strange feeling. "What's going on?" Kasa looked at him then, his eyes seemingly deflated and dull. Rakan winced within, but didn't show his worry.
"What's going on?" Kasa laughed bitterly. "I was hoping you could tell me, but now it seems we're in the same boat. And don't tell me you don't know what's going on. You're one of them..." Kasa closed his eyes and leaned his head back against the tree. "You're one of them...and I trusted you..."
"What do you mean?" Rakan asked, puzzled. "What are you talking about? I'm not one of them; I wasn't trying to kill us!" he wasn't angry, no, just frustrated. Kasa didn't seem to be making any sense, and it unnerved him slightly. "What do you mean, Kasa?"
"...You're one of them...You're in that stupid Organization..." Rakan's eyes widened. Kasa knew of the Organization? How was that possible? "I should never have trusted you...I thought I left all of that behind..." Kasa sighed and hung his head low, his shoulders trembling even more. "I trusted you...but you're one of them..."
"...I...Yeah, I'm...with the Organization, but...that doesn't mean I'm with those people who attacked us, Kasa..."
Kasa shook his head. "No, you don't understand...you could never understand, Rakan..." he laughed. "Rakan. I bet that's not even your real name, is it? They probably gave it to you." Rakan winced and looked away. "That's what I thought," murmured Kasa. "Here I've been honest and kind to you, and you can't even tell me your real name." he laughed bitterly once more, and rose to his feet, turning away and walking back into the trees.
Before he could take two steps, Rakan had grabbed his shoulder and was pulling him back. "Where are you going?" Rakan asked quietly, his eyes gazing at the ground.
Kasa pulled away. "Anywhere but here." he started to walk away again, but Rakan stopped him as he began to speak.
"Wait...Kasa, don't go..." he sighed and looked away. "I can explain-"
"I've heard that before, Rakan. You asked me once why I live alone, do you remember? Well here's my answer. I live alone because it's so much simpler than trusting people and having them turn on you. I trusted you, but you couldn't even tell me your real name. Goodbye." he turned and disappeared into the trees.
Rakan reached a hand out as if to call to him, to stop him, but then pulled his hand back, huffing out a breath and glaring at the ground.
