Expletives Not Deleted

It is eight o'clock
and I am in bed
still half asleep
when my mobile
emits a bleep.
I mumble, fumble,
pick up the device
I think it is Fred
calling from Cyprus
with the usual advice:
“Time to get up,
you lazy bone.”
I wake from slumber
answer the phone;
it's the wrong number.
It's not my relative
so I curse the caller
with a rude expletive
and I am not averse
to write it in verse.
I'm now fully awake,
feeling quite merry.
I shall exclaim WTF,
and hope a cherry
will bring me luck.

staying awake
Imagine staying awake in bed the whole night to wait for your girl friend to phone to wake you up in the morning for work.
