Darkness vs Light (Light)

Darkness shrouded me,
Life looked worthless and bleak.
Had no rose tinted glasses,
Had only haunting faces
Peering from the dark.
Had a black cloud with no sliver lining
Had an end to the tunnel but no light shining.
I began to search,
And I missed it at first,
But the light was there to be found.
It glowed bleak and dim
But I sensed the power within.
My faith though its faintness
Gave it power to shine
The light grew brighter
Now the light is mine.
The darkness is kept at a distance
And although it will always be there
The light gives me safety,
Fills me with hope.
Once I was bleak and dim
Now I glow.
