Heavy. Ip

Man and woman stand arms reaching upward

Through water flowing from the cliffs above

as it cleanses the dust from their newly molded bodies. 

They face east, she cleaves to his back as

together, breathing life into life beneath the streams of water

they become one. 

Then when they are pure, strong sunlight from above dries each drop of water upon their skin and warmed, they slowly tread upon lush mosses in an exquisitely vast garden providing every plant,tree bush and flower, laden with all the beauty and nourishment they could ever want and need. 

They eat and drink till they must rest upon the near soft grasses beneath their feet.  

A slithering serpent  passing them and pauses beside the woman, coaxing her to eat of a fruit she has not tasted. So she rises and reaches for the fruit and eats. Finding it most delicious she takes it to the man, and he too enjoys this forgotten fruit. 

  The sun is suddenly hidden by dark clouds and a rumbled voice is heard in the mist. 

  The voice tells them they have eaten from the forbidden tree of knowledge. Because of this, all of their lives and the lives of every generation to come, will be changed forever and will carry the weight and burden of the world upon their shoulders…a most heavy load.
