Fragment I
Scurry scrabble scratchy creature,
nibble twitcher, scribble shredder.
Rustle rustle fumble flurry,
twitchy whisker, twitchy tumbler.
Round and round and round and round,
fluorescent nightmare turns forever.
Turning spinning rattle rumble,
on forever, turn forever.
Nightmare hides in musty crumble,
pulpy fragments shredded innards.
Love in cages, love in tunnels,
squeezed and prodded, fingers nibbled.
Hidden from the world outside us,
hidden deep within the basement.
In the attic, beneath the skylight,
in the cupboard, in the closet.
Fragment II
Just bits of old paper.
Multicoloured excuses.
Walls covered in pain.
Twisting turning mounting climbing,
past death and guilt,
past burning sorrow.
Towards the terror,
the light the comfort.
Soft and sleepy,
tired and lonely,
broken pillows painful posture.
Hidden in the darkest corner,
pain forgotten, pain unspoken.
Just bits of old paper.
Given taken, gifts of lies.
