When the morning sun shines through,
I see the dirt that clouds my view,
The dust that settles on my life,
Like the cigarette ash &; the blunt knife.
When the birds sing I hear songs from the past,
I rebuild the tower that holds me fast.
And when she laughs, love shines in her eyes,
I feel the fear, and hope dies.
Why can't I grasp what lies in the palm of my hand?
That I cannot beleive what I don't understand.
And when the clock chimes and the night creeps on
I can no longer fight while my strength is gone.
She is here, my heart bleeds and cries,
She is gone, my heart withers and dies.
