I do things I never should do

Someone I work with keeps

a happiness diary she updates

ot every day. She was embarrasssed

when I asked what she was writing,

at the desk, beaming a smile,

she said I could read it I wanted to,

but it felt too personal, maybe

because I knew all the things

that lead to the suggestion of

a happiness diary and what

an incredible person it must be 

to take on that advice to make

a special trip to a stationery store

and on the first page write about a dog

that you've seen or a weird dream,

to have your happiness tangible,

an object in your bag 

and on your bedside table

here is a thing that made me happy

I can't wait to get my pen out.
