Hypnosis

He called me
While I slept.
“Help me!”
The cries wept.
But, my body was frozen:
I had entered an encounter,
An overdose for the unchosen.
“Help me!”
In the depths,
Of a deathly sleep.
“I’m dying.”
Lying in paralysis, I wondered,
Was I awake or not?
Panic filled up, to replace the wonder,
And so, I fought.
“Wiggle my big toe, just like in Kill Bill.”
But, there were a pair of Nikes on my feet.
“I can’t move,” a cry, fleeted. “Help me!”
Then I saw,
The figure, it hovered.
I cried in fright:
“Wiggle your eyebrows!”
I continued the fight.
“Just try!”
Oh no,” his weakened cry.
The demon stood there,
As if waiting.
“I’m going to die…”
I slipped, and the demon fled.
“No!”
Both eyebrows and toes wiggled,
The paralysis, broken,
No longer frozen,
An overdose for the chosen.
Silence in utter darkness,
When we were both sixteen,
I thought as my,
Breaths misted the air in a haze,
Well, they were better days.
