The Doves Cou
By Paul McCann
See the dove high up above asleep in the old oak tree .
Secure she'll be until the dawn sleeping quite contently .
Sleep dear one the day is done and it's time to rest your head ,
just like the dove high up above asleep in a feathered bed .
It's no surprise as you close your eyes sleep is where you'll be ,
like the dove above at rest in the branch of an oak tree .
Coo Cou the doves asleep and the world is so far away .
Like the dreams that are kept by angles for another day
.

They even keep you awake
They even keep you awake here cooing all the time they're at it day and night they mate summer and winter all the way through and there's lots here. I made a bit of a study. You get this, the laughing doves and then the turtle doves. If you can't sleep you just lie and listen to the doves.
Common, grey pigeons on the other hand if you pardon me are horrible they are everywhere all the world. When they cross with racing doves well can be ugly. Amusing rather then.
Good poem Paul! Like a type of lullaby! Tom Brown

A sweet poem, that for me
A sweet poem, that for me brought the doves cou to mind - we also have them here. Paul, with some hesitance the last line might be:
Like the dreams that are kept by angels for another day
Just my take and no disrespect.

You are most welcome Paul,
You are most welcome Paul, though (put on pedants hat) I still prefer angel to angle.
Best wishes
Dougie
