The Fairy Floss Man

There were some things

you couldn’t eat ,

pinky soft and so very sweet ,

it came in a van

round the street ,

the fairy floss man’s little treat .

Everybody jumped up and down,

when we heard that happy

wee sound ,

through the streets of Ardoyne

we found fairy floss men ,

were going round .

Sticky moment’s

wrapped round a stick.

Eating it was a tricky lick.

On windy days

you’d eat it quick ,

in case it blew off

from the stick .

A lovely bit of pinky fluff,

it never lasted long enough ,

but we never went in a huff .

Wasn’t fairy floss magic stuff
