Goodie Two Shoes
By Paul McCann
Miss Lisa Good lived alone in a corner house on Railway parade . It was always busy around her house with buses , cars and trains . Above her house was an overpass with traffic moving along at speed and opposite her house was a railway station . She always found it difficult to sleep with all the activity and noise . For years she had tried to play loud music in the house to drown out all the traffic noise but that only made matters worse . That also didn’t work too well as she became overtired which created another problem for her .
She consulted her doctor who made an appointment with a psychiatrist who in turn referred her to a hypnotherapist .
The after a few sessions the hypnotherapist was able to apply some pre-hypnotic suggestions in her life . Whenever things would get busy in her home , she would put on some dancing shoes and start dancing . The result of this was miraculous and Miss Lisa Good was unaware of the cognitive instructions that had she had been given so she found herself a new life and she loved dancing everyday .
She even started to dance in the street and in the shops and whenever and wherever things would start to get busy she automatically began to dance .
People around the town gave her the nickname of Goodie Two Shoes and most everyone loved it whenever she would start dancing .
At the end of everyday Goodie Two Shoes was so exhausted that she fell fast asleep until the morning .
During the day people would always say to her ,
“ Tell me how ever did you learn to dance like that “
\But she had no answer for them , she just danced how she felt .
Her long hair always fell all around her face and shoulders as she danced . She spun and jumped and people would clap and say.
“We hope that you’ll be always coming around . You give us a life each time we see you Goodie Two Shoes “
Sometimes people would advise her to go on the stage and perform .
They would say
“Goodie Two Shoes , why don’t you do yourself a favour and try performing as a professional , what have you got to lose, .
Sometimes Goodie would dance around the places where the buskers would be singing and they would always love to see little goodie two shoes .
Some of the busker boys would say ,
“Hey Goodie Two Shoes , say you’ll come and walk with me “
Others would say ,
“Goodie Two Shoes, you make me feel weak when I see you dance that way , my knees turn to jelly and I just go all squishy inside “
Goodie would laugh at their antics and say.’” .
“You know boys , now’s your chance, so come on , let’s dance “
The boys were not really dancers they were singers and never took her offer but one or two would still, say to her .
“.Goodie I’m in love with you and hope you’ll come back again soon :”
Then came the day when they started building a new development opposite the railways station where Goodie Two Shoes lived and her little corner house was going to be demolished . She was a paid very generously by the developer who wouldn’t take no for an answer and Goodie Two Shoes was happy and sad about leaving her little corner house .
When she moved into her new apartment , it was in a quiet neighbourhood and as a result the pre-hypnotic suggestions failed to work and Goodie Two Shoes never felt the urge to dance . As time went on, she got more and more depressed and went to visit her She consulted her doctor who made an appointment with a psychiatrist who referred her to a hypnotherapist who applied a new set of pre-hypnotic suggestions in her life . Whenever the silence of her new apartment would start to crowd her and the felt the walls closing in on her then she would feel the urge to dance .
Eventually Goodie Two Shoes returned her dancing again but in different places .
Now she had joined a ballet class and before long was appearing on stage before crowded audiences who loved to watch Goodie Two Shoes perform .
The End
