On Hell’s Doorstep
By Paul McCann
Do you know how it feels
at the doorstep of Hell
with nowhere else to go .
It‘s too late to go back,
too soon to go on
as the rain turns into snow .
After walking through the snow
all through the night,
to find the doorstep that’s there .
You could die from the cold’
and never know it ,
and no one would even care .
Sheltered from the cold
and you’re just another nobody no one knows .
You’ve forgotten the last time you were fed
and the last time you washed your clothes .
You landed where you fell
on the doorstep of Hell ,
where you laid down your head
and that’s where you stayed
as the walls burned down
where silent footsteps often tread .
.

I can relate.
Being there, and that's a place I never want to return. Hell's Doorstep!
