Jennys Garden Dance

Through the window in the kitchen ceiling a shaft of sunlight came through and landed at Jennys feet as she ate breakfast . Her Mother was sweeping the floor and asked Jenny to run to the shops to get a few things after she finished her breakfast .

Off she went with a little shopping list up the street and she noticed another beam of sunlight fall down upon the roof of a house and tied to the TV antenna was a red balloon which she knew was a secret message from the emperor so she made her way to the house and through the front gate to the door that opened by itself .  Sitting there in a chair , the emperor smiled and said ,

“Welcome back little one , are you ready for another walk in my garden ?”

“Yes , I am . “  Jenny replied calling out to the ladder in the corner to help her climb up the bookcase to get the key to the garden door .Once she had the key in her hand, she opened the  door and walked out into a different world with the sunshine falling down in beams  like spotlights from the sky . The water on the pond nearby was shining like a thousand diamonds .

Jenny walked over towards the pond and raised her arms to the sky and shouted aloud.

“Yes, it’s a new day to run and jump and shout and let it all out .“

All around her the sounds of nature chirped and squeaked, and burped tweaked  like a song of love for everyone to hear . Out of the blue and down the road a unicorn came galloping to meet Jenny . It pulled up to a stop in front of her and looked into Jennys eyes and softly said ,  .

“ Hello dear enchanted one and welcome back to the emperors garden . I’m Lorna the unicorn and I know a place where we can go , where no one has ever been. Lets go , climb up on my back I’ll take you there , to a Kingdom in the sky where happiness reigns and you’ll see things that you never through you would and do things that you never thought you could “

The unicorn lowered itself down to the ground so Jenny could get on its back .

and then a magic saddle appeared on the unicorns back and Jenny climbed into the saddle and they flew up into the sky , through the clouds , under the rainbow , into the valley and landing down there on the soft grass , beside a beautiful lake that encircled a castle that stood there on a hill on the island within the lake  .  .

The magic saddle was mysteriously removed and as the unicorn bowed down Jenny was able to dismount .  

As soon she was standing on the ground , she heard a funny little voice yelling out ,

“I’m coming , I’m coming , don’t be running away “

Just then a rainbow fell down from the sky to the ground and sliding down the edge of rainbow was this little leprechaun slipping and sliding all the way down to the ground next to Jenny . He was holding a little box in his hands and handed it over to Jenny who said ,

‘Is this a gift for me ?”

The Leprechaun replied  .

“To be sure it is and welcome to the Kingdom of happiness. Please accept this gift for you hand made by  Shimmy O’Sheen , the very talented shoemaker from Dreamy Valley . I won’t tell you what is but it could be

Something to wear on your feet so if you wouldn’t mind trying them on, just  to see if they are the right size  . You know it’s not everyday we get visitors here so welcome , its time to have some fun  . “

Jenny opened the box and took out a pair of shoes that fitted her perfectly  . As soon as they were on her feet , there was a sparkle that shone all around her as then uncontrollably her feet began to twirl and spin and Jenny had this strong desire to dance . She couldn’t  control herself and jumped high in the air as if there were springs on her feet then she ran down to the Lake as if there were wings on her feet , then she leapt into the air she glided across the water like a swan floating above the surface of the water . Then it was as if a pair of unseen hands lifted her and three her across the lake where she skimmed and leapt over the water , rising above here and there , raising up her arms , in an artistic expression of how she felt within . She was dancing on the airs of grace and on her face was a light that shone with happiness for everything that ever was meant to be in that moment in time . A young man appeared in a boat and spoke to her .

 “Hello , I’m the boatman of the lake and I watched you as you danced over the lake and I had to come and tell you that I’ve never seen anything as beautiful as that before , anytime , anywhere by anything or anybody . You have a wonderful gift to share . Why don’t you come over to the island and dance for the King and Queen in green fairly garden of the courtyard .

I’ll take you there, now , in my boat if would be so kind to get in . Everyone in the castle would love to see you dance in the great marble hall .  Please say you will come  .“

Jenny had never had such an appreciation before and it was too hard to refuse and she nodded her head .The boatman snapped his fingers and clapper his hands and at that moment a breeze from the Lake lifted Jenny into his boat and they made their way to the island

When the arrived there by the bank they were met three Doodleyhowdeedoos   two Blumpy Stumpers and five Arlosscumuckendoos  .Jenny had never had such a friendly welcome before in her life as they presented them with some giggley sticky licks , goodie goodie gumdrops and some busy bee fizzy juice,    

After they all ate and drank Jenny was taken to the castle gates where no one waits to get in or out and once inside , sitting there was the King and Queen of Happiness on their thrones surrounded a beautiful lawn and garden within the courtyard . When the King and Quenn welcomed her Jenny had sparkles in her eyes and a her feet were already getting excited .

 

“So I believe that you’re going to dance for us “

The King said .

 

“We’ve never had anyone do that before:” .

Said the Queen 

She never had the chance to answer back as the shoes on her feet refused to keep still .

Music came from the lake and Jenny leapt into the air , swirling and twirling and the audience cheered and applauded . The King and Queen smiled,

“That girl speaks when she dance’s”

Said the King

The Queen was so happy that she shed tears of joy as Jenny continued to dancing on the lawn before them . The audience lit up as Jenny took flight on her feet into the air like a bird . No one had ever seen such a dancer with so talent at her feet. The music from the lake played faster and the dance IN the castle garden became quicker  .More and more joined the audience who were shouting

“Bravo”

“Wow  fantastic “

The audience all began to dance and the King and Queen got to their feet and started dancing all around the castle grounds . There were all kinds of creatures who came dancing as well Elephant’s with rings in their ears , pigs with slippers on their feet , Monkeys with suits and ties and Donkeys and Llamas with silly pyjamas and even a Baboon came on a hot air balloon with bunches of bananas to share . It was a great party for one and all and it continued until the music from the lake came to a stop .

Jenny was totally exhausted as the audience came one by one to hug and tell her what a great dancer she was . Each hug revitalised Jenny and it wasn’t long until she was feeling recovered .

Then the unicorn arrived with the leprechaun .

“Time to leave now , the emperor sent a message to bring you back “

The leprechaun informed Jenny that the magic dancing shoes would only work in the Kingdom of Happiness but she was welcome to keep them as a souvenir .Jenny said her farewell to everyone in the castle and took her final bow before leaving for the emperors room .

As she got back into the dale on the unicorns back everyone was waving and cheering . They flew away into the valley , and over the rainbow , then through the clouds to the pathway to the emperors door .

Jenny said to the unicorn ‘

Thank you Lorna for everything . I had the best time ever , It was even more than I expected . I’ll never forget you “

The unicorn smiled and said .

‘Goodbye little dancer .“

 Jenny walked along the path to the door where two lion statues stood .As she got closer the came alive and spoke .

“So I suppose you want to get through the door .”

“:Yes I do “

“Did you have a ride through the sky on a unicorn “
Yes I did “:

Jenny said and the other lion asked ,

Then the other lion asked  

“Did you get a gift from the Leprechaun from Dreamy Valley ?”

‘Yes I did and I’m still wearing them”

Then the other lion said asked  

“Tell me then , Were you welcomed to the Kingdom of Happiness by the  Doodleyhowdeedoos , the Blumpy Stumpers and Arlosscumuckendoos  :

 

‘Yes I’ve never had such a friendly welcome before “

The other lion asked

‘’So then tell me this , Did you dance for everyone in the castle garden and were they happy with your performance ?”

    Jenny said ,

“Every one was so happy and they all danced with me in the garden “

The lions smiled and said ,

“Go now then , you know what you must do “:

 

Jenny hopped three times to the door and knocked three times and the door opened . On the other side of the door the emperor stood and said ,

“Did you enjoy your time in the garden today ?”

‘Yes emperor , it was fantastic , Thank you “

The emperor handed Jenny and said ,

“Here take these . They’re the groceries your Mother asked you to buy this morning
