Twelve More Days Of Christmas

Chapter 10

 

A Christmas Glow  

 

T'was a starry night on Christmas Eve and the North Pole was a very busy place for Santa the big  man and all the elves . Everyone was asking questions , singing carols , telling tales . The reindeers were trotting and chatting and Santa said with a smile on his face. 

Oh, please bring us some peace on earth . Ready or not here  I come . “

It was almost Christmas time again and he put on his red suit and laced up his boot , then he called each reindeer by their name and the reindeers except one came running over to the sleigh by Santa’s front door . Prancer wasn’t there and it was getting close to Christmas . 

Santa asked all the elves and the other reindeers to go and see if they could find Prancer .

 

Shelfie said to Selfie. 

“Well, I wonder where that reindeer could be .“

And Selfie said to Shelfie  .

“Dancing in the moonlight I’d expect “

They both laughed and looked at each other .’

Then the Healthy Elfie said to the wealthy Elfie,

“ Let’s go now Wealthy we can’t afford to wait any longer . We need to find Prancer fast “

And the Wealthy Elfie replied ,

“I’ll bet you Prancer is just having a last-minute sleep before Santa and the sleigh take flight.

.

All over Toyland the snow lay thick and white but outside the village it was dark and cold as teams of reindeers and elves went looking for Prancer .

Some of the elves rode on the reindeer’s backs . others took snow sled’s ; they went in different directions calling out. 

‘Prancer , where are you . Prancer hurry up its nearly time to go “

 

After a while everyone got lost in the darkness out there somewhere beyond Toyland in the unknown areas of the north Pole . 

 

All of a sudden, a strange glow appeared in the sky that seemed to be showing the way for everyone to follow  .The glow above shone down allowing the elves and reindeers to see the trail of their footsteps left behind in the snow on the ground .

The glow that appeared fell all around those looking for Prancer and it remained there with them as they walked around in the snow . 

One of the search parties found a set of footprints and started to follow them that led them  into a forest of pine trees . The glow lit up a path through the forest to a clearing where stardust was falling to the ground . That where they saw Prancer who was  singing and dancing under a spotlight that shone down from sky above .

The elves called out.  

 

“Prancer come on its time to go , Santa’s waiting for you at the sleigh “

 

The search party made their way over to where Prancer was dancing .and she said to them ,

 

“Listen everyone , I’m going to tell you something and you probably won’t believe me but it’s the truth  . Earlier on tonight I saw this strange looking glow appear in the sky It was kind of hovering there in a grow . Suddenly I was a blinded these colourful lights that sent me into a trance as I started to dance and I haven’t stopped dancing for hours . I don’t know how of why this happened but as I was dancing, I saw all kinds of fairy lights falling from the sky ., I don’t know where they came from but I was filled with a sense of wonder and I just wanted to dance . Then there came  a high pitched hum that seemed to numb my body and then I saw the strangest of things, let me tell you , I thought my mind was gone but all these funny little garden gnomes came marching out of the glow and they all came alive and started digging and planting all these Christmas Trees . Then all these garden gnomes began to glow with different colours . There was I and what could I say and what could I do and to tell you the truth I stood there speechless and stunned but I had an urge to dance and haven’t stopped until you came along and called out to me .”

 

They took Prancer back along the path through the forest and then following their footsteps in the snow to Toyland  . When they got back Santa was having a final pep talk with the reindeers .

 

“ Christmas is coming and soon we will go , up into the sky and all over the world , to the places we have to go with toys and gifts to all the children . So, let’s do this thing and bring joy to everyone this Christmas “

 

Santa saw Prancer who had arrived back and started to cheer . Prancer approached the big man with the big red  suit and rubbed his head on Santa’s shoulder .

 

All the other reindeers came over and formed a circle around him . Then after a few moments a strange glow appeared in the sky and shone down upon Toyland and Santa said. 

 

“‘It’s the light of Christmas that has come a long way to be with us this year . Let’s be on our way now . For the time is right . Come away with me now reindeers and into the sky we will go .
