The Whisperers

Some strange insects were seen coming out of drains around the city .  

A reporter from the tv news channel Billy Hughes , was sent with a news crew to cover the strange insect sightings in the city .  It was a live broadcast and as the camera crew started their footage the sky above turned black followed by a sharp shrieking sound . Then they saw the flying insects descend down to the streets . People ran for cover and locked them selves in buildings and cars as more and more insects came from gutters and hike in the ground until the city was covered with insects . The brave  news team  walked and he talked as people sat in the comfort of their lounge room at home watching this on their television sets .

 The news was being televised live  on the prime time news channel as the reporter tried to cover his mouth for fear of insects entering as he spoke .

“This is Billy Hughes from  your city news channel bringing you the latest up date on the insect invasion around the city .

Seeing is believing and as you can see here today  in city central , we have insects all over the place , that have come out of the ground and descended down from the sky and even out of the water to occupy the streets of our city  .  No one knows why this is happening but as you can see , right now there are blankets of insects covering the buildings and streets . The army are now on their way with chemicals and flame throwing weapons to remove them from  the city . “

Then as the troops were getting close to the city , to commence their attack , the insects retreated back underground and into the air . 

In a short time all of the insects that had invaded the city disappeared .

The following day work crews came to clean up some of the mess that was left on the city streets but had to stop work and run as some animals began  to arrive  into the city . Wild and tame animals from all over the country invaded the city streets . 

Billy Hughes was in a helicopter with a camera crew reporting the story of the strange appearance of animals all over the  city .

“This is Billy Hughes ,from your city news channel  . We had insects yesterday and now today animals have invaded the streets of our city. People had locked themselves in buildings and units from the animals roaming around . 

There were bats and birds from the sky , people’s pets ,  farm animals , creatures from the forests and hills and mountains , even some that escaped from the city zoo . Seeing is believing  and as you can see all over  the streets of the city we have animals everywhere that have arrived  like an army making noise and terrorising anyone out there on the street .”

The air force were brought as well as the police and infantry to deploy sedatives or to destroy the animals  if necessary with  deadly weapons but before they arrived the animals began to leave the city of their own accord without a shot  being fired . 

The following day a huge clean up began all over the city to remove the mess the animals had left .

No one had any idea why this had happened until the city news channel was contacted by people who called themselves the whisperers . Billy Hughes was asked to do an interview with them to shed some light on the strange invasions on the city streets .

Billy Hughes covered the story . that had people watching all over the country .

“ Billy Hughes from city news and today I’m speaking to one of the whisperers  who have come with a message for us all about the recent invasion on our city streets with animals and insects arriving . What can you tell us about these recent strange invasions “

The whisperer responded  , 

“ I am here to speak on behalf of all the insects and animals who came to protest in a peaceful way about the destruction of their habitats by humans   who have come with equipment to start mining and clearing  land for building and other projects . Many of our insects and animals have been made homeless and want to make people  aware by invading the city streets how it feels to have trespassers in the  habitat where you belong .“

The reporter replied

“That is an amazing story , I’ve never heard of the whisperers before . Who are you and where are you from ?”

The whisperer responded ,

“Whisperers like myself are able to speak and understand animals and insects . Some of us are farmers , others politicians . Some of us work in zoo’s others as vets and horse doctors . We are from all walks of life .”

After the news  was televised people from all over the country responded with a huge support for the whisperers request and a series of peaceful protests rallied in  support of the protection for all animals and insect habitats . This was followed by

new frameworks and resolutions in the mining and building sectors to include environmental policies that would provide research into the protection for all wildlife and insects in the areas that would be considered for development and structural changes that might affect any flora and fauna , insect and other animals who would be affected by reconstruction or development of that land . This policy and all of the agreements made would be overseen by the  whisperers and government officials to ensure that animals and insects habitats would be protected from any further intrusion or destruction and a frequent monitoring of those areas would be made into the developers and mining companies who would be liable and made to pay high fines for any failure to comply to the new environment agreements put in place .
