APPLES AND HONEY

Do not eat the apple, study it.
Seeds stir inside its womb, inside its heart
Ready to give birth if allowed.
We devour it before its time
With sweet, glistening honey
Swirling over a matrix split,
Open, pulsing with force.
The honey, the seed together
Create new worlds that blossom
After songs and psalms fade away.
We will nurture the seed another season.
Another year will pass.
Time to study the apple,
Split for seeds to emerge
Another year.
