The swelling

You lay on the grass
watching the spring crawl
towards you
and you claimed back
the winter, pushing away
swelling flower buds
away away, and away
you claimed the winter back,
it was love that you felt
swelling
You crossed roads blindly
ravelled your restless limbs
in damp sheets
fevered, at 4am, neither awake or
asleep at 4pm turning over
ambling, blindly, streets
over, over and over
you turned over in damp sheets
it was love that you felt
swelling
swelling.
