Almost snakelike she

Hissed like spit on a

Hot griddle. I had

No idea that

Medusa was

Prevalent to that

Area of the country.

I looked at her and froze.

The spot where I

Stood stuck for

Fear of being poisoned.

The serpent goddess

Attacked regardless,

And I its prey!

Dinner tonight?

She asked without

Conviction. I nodded

And smiled for

Fear had grabbed

My attention.

I was trapped!

Did she mean dinner

Or a lifetime

Together where

Her words, like a

Serpents, dominated

The conversation

That was my life?
