Something to while away the cold winter nights

I stopped by the local second hand shop on my way home. As it was a nice day he had a wide selection of his goods outside on the street. ‘Anything of value bought for cash’ proclaims the hand painted sign, and so it was from the rusty (probably) stolen bikes and unwanted fishing rods to the knackered old toolbox and 10 year old radio cassette player with only one functioning tape deck.
There are also boxes of books, all for sale at 20p each. After a good old rummage through them I unearthed three possible gems; Rudyard Kiplings ‘The Jungle Book’, A teach yourself backgammon book by a man named Robin Clay who supposedly is THE well known authority on backgammon with the basis of his knowledge being years of playing experience including an appearance in the finals of the 1977 British championship, and finally Tantra-the art of mind blowing sex by Val Sampson.
“Just those three is it?” asked the shopkeeper when I presented my choices at the counter. “That’ll be sixty pee then mate” he said and with a sly wink at the book on tantric sex added “something to while away the cold winter nights eh”
