To Love a Psychopath

              I can’t wait to watch you burn. I can’t wait for the day the light in your eyes disappears and all that’s left is emptiness. I can’t wait for you to give up. Give up on yourself, on the world, on life. I can’t wait to bear witness to you on your hands and knees begging for a sign that will never show itself. I can’t wait for those empty eyes to meet mine as you finally figure out what it means to fall in love with a psychopath. You were played so well. Found broken in a million lonely pieces. You were almost too easy a puzzle for a psychopath to put back together and mold into the perfect toy. You give everything you have, everything you are, to a beast. Complete trust. Unlimited love. Complete devotion. Unlimited desire. Self-preservation instincts demolished amongst your trust in, love for, devotion for, desire for a psychopath. You blinded yourself to the dangers that await you, all you needed was a little push in the wrong direction. Your desperation for affection just one amongst many of your downfalls. An illusion of forever is all it takes for you to cling to a monster that couldn’t care less about your well-being. When you realize, you were never anything more than entertainment, your torture will begin. The suffering to be caused by the true face of the psychopath you love so much; cruel. The grand reveal of the puppet master will kick-start your hurt. Your unimaginable pain caused by your unrivaled stupidity. You will cry. You will shake. You will scream, crying out in agony for the psychopath who abandoned you. By the time the psychopath returns to view your end, you would have figured out what had been done to you. You finally can see what you’ve been looking at the entire time, but it won’t make a difference. It’s already too late. You’re nothing more and nothing less than what your precious psychopath wanted you to be. Without having to lift a finger, just walk out the door, the psychopath will come back to you one last time in order to witness a toy shatter permanently. I can’t wait to watch as you take your last breath because I have made you absolutely worthless without me. I can’t wait for those dead eyes to be forever frozen, open with shock, as you finally figure what it means to fall in love with a psychopath.
