The Third Law of Thermodynamics

Law tends to chaos as energy escapes,
The whine of the engine, the rattle of the wheel,
The heating of the light bulb, the cooling of the world,
The friction between us and the cooling of the bed,
The slow effects of aging, as passion melts away.
The slow slide into apathy, the breakdown of our lives.
Let’s try a little law-breaking to rekindle what we’ve lost,
Set our neighbours’ tongues wagging, as we make passion out of frost,
Build order out of chaos and stand physics on its head,
Prove that we have what it takes to make history in bed.
