Blind Love

Turn to that page of the calendar,
Cross through the days as they're met.
But see the imaginary ring illuminating
the day that I long to forget.
With every year the death grows older
my heavy heart holds.
I could not keep you in the world,
nor shake you from my soul.
And though I never saw you,
I'm picturing you grow.
Day in day out I share with you
in a silent sepia show.
And be sure my child that I am proud
of what you would have been.
Each milestone acheivement that I see
when long endless days I dream.
I think of my cursing words. Rejection.
When all you needed was my protection.
Young, irresponsible, ignorant me.
Now, how I long to share my love...
The worst day of my being,
ringing in my mind.
This marked the end of our life together.
Now just a love, forever blind.
