"The New Normal"

Today, it’s cold in the sunlight
So we’ll make our way
Through the shady places
And emerge with nothing less than
Changed hearts and faces

This is my first attempt at realizing
That I’m not always right
And I might try harder if you let me
But you’re gonna have to let me

I hope you can forgive me
Because who I was is not who I want to be

Tonight we’ll lay under a moonlit surface
Because the sun hasn’t been good to me
The stars were brighter from the start
If you’re not willing to reconcile
Then we should just live in denial
Because it’s better than living apart

What I’m missing out on
Because I’ll tell you when I’m moving on
