A child's wish

Sparkles

On firefly wings

Moving on

Moonbeams

To places

Unseen

Where

Twinkles of magic

And

Sprinkles of stardust

In colorful hues

Make wishes

Come true

 

Oh for the days of summer's youth

With wished to make

On magic filled lakes

Genies and fairies

Princes from frogs

Mermaids and unicorns

And knights drinking grog

Igniting creative

Thoughts

To be pondered

While walking

In forests

Beyond

Thrilling

To wander

Thank you Jenny- I was cleaning out the garage and found boxes of my son's childrens book collection. Memories of their little faces when I'd read to them before bed made me miss those days (over twenty years ago now) and it made me think about the fleeting years of childhood in general...it was a bitter sweet thought, so I turned it into something to write about.

I'm so glad you liked it - i did have to correct one word- it was supposed to be Genies and Fairies not Giants..not sure how that happened, a brain glitch I suppose. smiley
