Burial

Granddad pulled me close
And, gurgling and wheezing
He said:
'Malcolm, Malcolm, when I die
I don't want none of them
Poncey funerals.
When my time is up son,
Just bury me where I lie'
But the next day he suffered
A fatal heart attack
In the lighting department
Of Tudor Williams
And the Manager said
That though Granddad was dead,
He could not comply
With the old man's last wishes
Because they had just
Re-sanded
the floor.
