Saliva dripped from the corner of his contorted smile. "Delicious" he said. At his feet, humanity cried out for mercy: "Please, give us back our light! Without it we cannot survive!"
He laughed and then said: “And why should I care for such insignificant lives?!"
"Because we can offer you that which you've never felt."
"Impossible! I've created existence itself!"
"Thus, I presume you've never felt empathy."
"And how could there ever be anyone like me?!" The grandiose figure uttered with a smirk. He then turned away and faded into the darkness of space.
Without wasting time, the humans gathered what tools they had to start working. Within a few days, they raised from the ground a giant statue portraying the figure of a beautiful woman. Every day they would pray and praise at her feet. Only a few days passed until, out of thin air, appeared once more a menacing silhouette.
"What is the meaning of this?!" it asked.
"This is our gift to you, all powerful! It might not mean much, but it is all we can offer for now!"
"You are a fool if you think your useless gifts mean anything to me!" He uttered and turned his back, vanishing into nothingness again.
Devastated, humanity then hugged their friends and family and kissed their sons. They sang songs and wrote. They wrote messages of love and knowledge. They also prayed and prayed until nature started to freeze and die. Until the last of their resources remained. Until laying their last breath beside the beautiful statue they had created.
Millennia passed as the now dark and frozen world floated through the galaxy. But one day, from complete stillness came the sound of footsteps. They were larger than any human could ever produce yet quieter too.
None saw as a giant and imposing figure walked that abandoned place. When it put its forehead against a petrified face. When it evaporated into little sparkles of light. Neither when its glimmering pieces floated to the skies and spun quicker and quicker. And nobody saw when they came to a sudden stop or when they burst into blinding light. Yet, from there on, above a dark and cold world, a radiating star now stood.

Welcome from me too!
Hope you enjoy being on the site. This has a real mythological feel about it, and the idea of the creation of a star is lovely. Do post more soon.
