Fold your hands. Bow your head. Close your eyes.
These are just three of the commands Meg Peters grows up learning; living in a devout Christian household molds her into a devoted young lady with high ambitions. Her hometown of Baltimore, Maryland, doesn't sound nearly as intriguing as Connecticut, the home of Yale University, where she will soon be attending. Like most teenagers, she spends her time writing songs, memorizing philosophical quotes, and, above all, lusting over the amicable Parker Louis. To everyone around her, Meg Peters is the definition of free-spirited.
Which makes it nearly impossible to fathom that she attempted suicide.
In a world where tattoos are taboo, homosexuality is a sin, and Halloween means worshipping Satan, Meg Peters seems perfect, an ideal role model for young women. But underneath the eyes of confidence exists a world of pain and self-destruction. Can the power of love overburden these engraved values and traditions? Or will the scripture determine Meg's fate?
What is worse-living in sin or dying in vein?
