The Honey Trap. (IP)

When you plant a seed
In the ground, you have
Hope it will always be
Around.
Many a seasons will come,
Winters may be harsh but
Summer sun, bright and fun.
Its then harder to take
When your beautiful
Creation brakes.
To watch it painfully
Dissolve to a fragment of
Air, after years of securing
Solid foundations can
Be truly unfair.
So its no surprise
To me, when I read
My mag with my
Favorite cup of tea,
That the honey trap is
Well and truly back.
So all you unfaithful men
You know who you are,
Beware that next time
You fancy playing away,
Your partner or wife may
Have hired another to catch
You and your lover.
Then it will be you,who will
Have their life in tatters,
Because when you claim
To love someone, breaking
Their heart matters.

Damn right. I think season
Damn right. I think season has a stray 's' on the end and 'brake' is 'breaks.' They'll be in tatters if I get hold of them. Like the seed analogy.

Great response to the IP,
Great response to the IP, Prettyrose. I was wondering how one could go about getting the concept into a poem but you managed it wonderfully. A few great rhymes in here, and the seed is a powerful way of opening up the poem. A strong turn when it's revealed the speaker is reading a mag with a cup of tea, contemplating the fate of the young men about her.
Great one.
