Not My Usual morning

Woke up this morning with the
The Sun beaming,birds singing,
Green grass growing,daffodils
Blooming so picturesque,so
Calming and safe.its the last place
I thought would be replaced with
So much unthinkable affliction.
Yet my tranquil world of contentment
And happiness,became reduced
To this,in just seconds.
My phone rings with Kenny Rogers
'Handprints on the Wall' song,full
Volume,I know immediately
Who it is,so I eagerly take the call,
And hear my best Friends voice.
But instead of the usual laughing and
Girl talk,we love to do.I hear a loud,
Desperate,screaming voice balling
Out one name and words no one
Would ever want to hear or should
Have to hear night or day.
'They killed him Rachel, what will I
Do',I feel helpless at the end of this
Mobile phone, and while I hear these
Alarming cries, I cant help thinking
How can it be technology can send
Electrical signal,that's transmitted
As radio waves so I can talk to my
Friends and family anywhere in the
World, yet when I'm needed the most,
It's useless in a situation like this,its
Transportable capability is unable to
Catapult with speed to the place I
Need to be.
I want to run but my legs are still firmly
Stud still.'Rachel,Rachel,what am I
Going to do',thats all I can hear.I cant
Comprehend that from a second of
Hearing enchanting tweets and
Breathing in beautiful surroundings
Of peace and calm to the cries of my
Best friends voice distraught with
So much anguish and pain.
I drop my glasses I still hold in my hand,
From reading 'The Murder of Roger
Ackroyd' by Agatha Christie.smash
Goes the lenses,my legs go numb.
My ear drums feel hollow, but sounds
Are echoing out of them.
'They killed him, they sent him out there,
Without proper training,my only boy
Just gone eighteen.another soul lost
In yet more, unprotected,unwanted
War.No no Rachel it cant be real,
I'v just washed his clothes,he as to
Pick them up when he's home on leave,
No please god no'.
I cant help feeling helpless and ice still,
As I picture my landscaped garden,
Which has angels perched on my
Brown high raised decking,over looking
Beautiful clear pink,Azalea - Evergreen
'Hinomayo' vibrant, alive and then I see
My godson's who is bereft of life.

Well-told tragic tale, PR,
Well-told tragic tale, PR, glad you got it finished and posted in time, and hope you yourself are somewhat better now. So much 'if only's and muddles and mistakes in wars, so much sorrow. Rhiannon
