My frail body; it's deteriorating because it has been deprived of the love that you had promised. You have abandoned me in the middle of this cold night disregarding the pain you could have or might have inflicted. I endured the torture you put me through and those unkind words you whispered when you thought I was sleeping. With all consuming love in my weary heart I sucked your words in and wiped my tear stains on my pillow, my sacrifices all for nothing. I would have been content with a simplistic lie. But you were selfish, unwilling to stick by the one that had loved you endlessly.

You're cruel; to lie shamelessly. You're spiteful; to mock my misery without any regard to my weakened heart.

But you're smart; to leave before my blood could be shed on your pillow.
