Medicine

Well I've not lived long but I've seen in my time
The best sleep aid made is peace of mind
& the best medicine a good night's rest
& human contact is the cure for stress

But we rush and we run and we never look back
And we fight and lie and we never say thank-you
We teach our children to stay up late & get up early
Then we wonder why they need their medicine!

And we teach them early not to be impolite
But we don't give half a damn if they do what's right
So they fight & lie and we keep them away from eachother
And we work, and worry, and say kids these days are shit

And I wasn't born with the potential for happiness,
So the doctor says
He tells me I gotta take supplements
Vitamin S-for-serontonin, vitamin Q-for-quit-caring
I got the kids up in the morning, made them take their vitamin C
& I haven't had a good night's sleep in ages.
