Conquest of Chimera

    Kian was a bit surprised he was not exhausted. They had spent the bulk of the day flying and the remainder chasing pleasure in each other’s arms. Now after a hot shower and a hardy meal of steak and baked potatoes he should be fast asleep in Kia’s arms. However, she was taking a shower and he was standing on the balcony watching the blue slowly turn to black.  

    Apparently, his new body did not weary easily. He wondered what other abilities he now possessed. He also wondered if night came here the way it came on Earth. Would stars fill the nighttime sky as they did on Earth? He hoped so. They should, all the clouds were below them. There was no wash out from city lights, for all he knew there were no cities. Maybe there were no people. Could it be they were alone? Was the whole planet theirs, except of course for their unseen benefactors? Maybe they really were Adam and Eve. Maybe they had just made a baby. Maybe Cain was nine months away.

  Kian’s body was not weary, but now his mind certainly was. Massaging his fore head, he turned back toward the window and spotted something impossible out of the corner of his eye. “Kia,” he yelled as ran through the membrane window so fast a strand of it clung to his left heel before snapping back into place.

   Kia was sitting on the bed combing through her damp hair. He ran right past her.

  “Kian what is the matter?”

  He spun around, “I know where we are!”

   She shrank away.

  “Its’ alright Kia, it’s not bad, its’, its, the future!”

  “What?”

  “We are on Earth. I just saw the moon, our moon. This is stranger than I thought.”

  “Is it better?” Kia asked, rising from the bed and wrapping her arms around him “What does it mean?”

   Kian could feel her tiny frame trembling against his chest.

“This, this should be better. I least we do not have to worry about bugged eyed alien monsters. Moreover, our hosts must be human. They have to be.”

  “There are bad humans Kian,” Kia whimpered into his chest.

 “Now you’re afraid?”

  “No,” she pulled away, “just concerned. People are many things, aliens, who knows?”

  “They haven’t hurt us Kia, have they? In fact, they saved my life and gave you yours.”

  “Yes of course, but why?”

  “We’ll find out tomorrow, let’s go look at the moon.
