“I’m innocent!” Jason screamed across the courtroom. He collapsed in his chair from exhaustion. The jury barely moved. They just looked at Jason’s slumped body. Their eyes turned back towards a glass screen with an image of a man stabbing at a woman laying in bed.
“You’re honor, can we get this murderer off the stand please,” said a tall man with long black hair and melon colored skin. Jason’s attorney stood so fast the backs of his knees pushed his metal chair back screeching across the floor. The crowd started to murmur.
People stood against the walls and TV camera’s floated above. National Network’s drone was able to swing freely across the the courtroom. The other station stood mostly in the same position. Sometimes they jockeyed for more space.
Below the judges tall, elongated, metal stand the defense and the prosecution argued over whether or not they should continue to question Jason. The prosecution stated that all of the necessary evidence was in place and it was time for the Jury to decide. The defense held onto the argument that the procurement of the image was invalid.
The jury went back into the jury room to deliberate on what exactly should be done with Jason. In the Jury room, one jurist asked for the expert witness on the ImageMiner functionality. They replayed his testimony.
A handsome man aged approximately 30, or in his early thirties, stood at the witness stand. “...you see, the ImageMiner is a direct photo realistic representation of a suspects memories. It’s basically exactly what happened…”.
One of the jurors turned off the screen. “Or it’s just a fantasy.”
“Oh my god!” gasped a woman juror.
The jurors came out and handed the judge their verdict. Guilty. On all counts. Murder in the first degree. Conspiracy to commit murder. And Premeditation.
