Saw her in the first
of light. Glint
in her eye and twist
of one shoulder
called with a smile
come on be brave--.
we danced that night.
And the weekend
that followed
swept us across my
favourite lake in
a windy canoe
camped beneath stars
in a canvas sky
dark and glittering
like fireflies outside
our tent—
I share a trampoline
of words
the pounding of your
heart demands
an audience of love.
