of wind remains formidable

not complicated nor lazy

from its storming last night--

still powerful

as it launched my canoe

across the crests

of foam -- yet I was unafraid

with Jesus at the bow.

Tom,  you are correct and I thank you for your kind words. Writing a short  poem really challenges me and there is such joy in the creating. My leg strength now prevents me from traversing the hills and valleys of beauty and I now continue to do so from my memory and  imagination. Merry Christms from my wife, Esther and I.
