A Flag of Notions

Try not look at the storm
when children cry
and wives wear a frown
as thoughts fling my kite
into the sky --
I wrestle with definition,
capture attention
as a wayward son rejoins.
When you turn a corner
don’t follow my path
nor collect any remnants
from the inheritance
of harrowing day-dreams.
