That Lady

in the chair

is my rocking mom

who once was

Commander-in-Chief

of our family

and still driven as

a person of great respect:

always teaching                                                                                

us proper decorum

even during visits

to her Nursing Home-

unable to speak through pain

raises an eyebrow

or wiggles a finger as

part of our conversation

carrying on a tradition

always enjoyed-

and we love her so.
