A Loaf of Bread
By Richard L. Provencher
- 2022 reads
is a simple thing to purchase
at a corner store. Not so
with the request mom
made to her middle son
who could do nothing less
for mama when she held out
a request – I’ll get you
one Paul said jumping onto
his 2-wheeler and headed
for the nearest town just
20 kms away. Got to keep
momma happy he always said.
The only thing he missed
in all his forays was a
girl-friend. Not lucky this
lad was as he was often teased
at the age of 24 with no
one to share. A not so handsome
man yet could not do enough
for the mom and siblings
he loved -- went out one day
and simply disappeared.
