She Paints Kisses

with her tongue – its
sensuous touch
the smile teasing.
Fingernails of steel
flesh fleeing
an injection of violent
activity –
an owl hoots
and predators flee
knowing warnings
are about
the land and its folly
are subject to divisions
of authority --
nature a proven field
for beasts.
She comes to me
in the night
fires up my soul --
lightning escapes our
attraction.
