From the bottom
of Wood Street to an apartment
high above
my foot begins
to climb - its angle daunting
slowly
up the sidewalk – a sneaker
at curbside. Did a runner
simply discard weight
in order to make an upper
grade?
Another foot another tramp
of muscle and bone-
so what if I have a limp
I’m just an older guy
with resolve on my mind.

I'm always impressed when
I'm always impressed when poets catch the rhythm of what they describe- you have done this so well here, I really felt the placing of each foot, the push needed! I am thankful we live in a groundfloor flat - I hope you are ok with your sciatica? "Angle daunting" is great!
