Surely

I followed the fire

from the belly of Jesus

in undulating

layers of sunlight—

a blazing glory

this evening

showering two deer

who pause in awe

at the magnificence

of twilight’s embrace

red of sun

shades of warmth

as yellow tinge

blends up and down

like a boardwalk path

my face

raised in praise

within an energy of love.
