He felt the old wound scars:
joined the war of WW 11
saw the blight
smelled the death
his wound memory-dripped red
in war no quarter given
bombed-out villages
TV sketches of bodies true.
After too many years
the horror behind his eyes
& inside his mind continue
to linger on this Nov. 11th day.

And sometimes
And sometimes you leave even an arm or an arm and a leg Behind, and even if you're lucky, and brought back from the war nightmares suffering and memories of horror and terror.
There will be no gratitude, sympathy is to be found in the dictionary somewhere between sh*t and s*philis.
